You Are Not of This World - Part Two Where are you from? if indeed, “you are not of this world.” (John17) To answer that question, one has only to look at our origin. We come from the loins of Adam, but also from the perfect Will of God. Before time…there was Jehovah, our Father. He declared this to be the time of His offspring. How do we know we are His offspring? Luke 3:38. If Adam is the son of God and we are from Adam… what does that make us? However, that connection is only through the flesh because Adam broke away from the Spirit in the fall. Now I did not say Adam broke away from covenant. Please understand, Adam could not do that, because God is the author of the covenant. We have to go to the New Testament to find the answers, even though it is prophesied in the Old Testament. “Behold,[means to carefully look at] what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us[our birthright], that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not” (1 John 3:1) That’s right!!! “THEREFORE THE WORLD KNOWETH US NOT, BECAUSE IT KNEW HIM NOT.” Before we go on, did you see that? The world is referring to the flesh or the people who have not received what Jesus did for them upon the cross. Take notice of this “…BECAUSE it knew Him not…” ties directly to what the Word says in John 17:16 “They are not of this world, EVEN (the exact same way) as I am not of this world”. Where then does that place your world? Simple “…In heavenly places with Him” (Ephesians 6:2). This leads us to our next question… do you believe it? I’m not talking about conceptually; I am talking about physically walking it out here. Because either you believe you are from heaven or you believe that you are here waiting to go to heaven. I am not talking about the physical transformation from our natural bodies to the spiritual ones, like that found in 1st John 3:2, but the spiritual awakening to the truth that you are not of this world in the exact same way Jesus was not of this world. It is something that must be studied, meditated upon and must be a Rhema Revelation of the Holy Spirit. What are the implications? What if you were to physically walk in the fullness of that understanding? Well then, the things of this world would be in subjection to the Spirit of God in you. “…according to the power that is working in us…” (Ephesians 3:20) You must understand, awakening to who you are in Christ, will free you from all this world has: fear worry lack, sickness disease, lies etc… When you walk in the Spirit, (which is to say you align yourself with the Word of God), the things of this world have nothing to do with you. After you have awoken to the Christ in you, you can confer no more with the flesh because it is set against God. (Romans 8:1-11) The problem with most of us is we understand we are saved, but have not awoken to who we are in Christ. We never received the fact that we are sons and daughters of the living God. And as with anything else in the Word of God, it will not take hold in us until it has first been received by faith. You can do all the studying you want to. Go study the Hebrew, go study the Greek, go grab a Webster’s dictionary and study every word. You will still fall short in your understanding. The mind is at WAR with the SPIRIT. You must first bypass the mind by receiving the Word of God by faith first, and then the Spirit of Truth will lead you to want all the truth. Clearly what you have been doing is not working, or else you would see the Power of God displayed in your life. Not just by the Word going out, but through the signs and wonders that would follow. What’s the worst thing that can happen to you by receiving the Word by faith first? Exactly! Nothing! So give it a whirl, you’ll be happy you did! You are not of this world in the exact same way Jesus was not of this world! Now walk it out!
