A Closer Walk with Him So many of us long for a deeper walk with the Lord, but find it difficult to get there. We pick up the Word with the hopes of doing right and growing, only to be disappointed after we put it down. Then we tell ourselves, “I tried; shouldn’t that count?” When the truth of the matter is we want that intimate walk with the Lord more than anything. HOW DO WE GET THERE????? Understand that you are sin free before God is the first step. If we skip this step, we stand no chance to grow deeper. We just increase in knowledge. So without making your life difficult, I will give you just a few things to think about. Why did Jesus come? “…behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world”. (John 1:29) If you are saved, do you have sin? “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and He CANNOT sin, BECAUSE he is born of God” (1John3:9). Does not God hold me responsible for my sin? “And their sins and iniquities will I remember NO MORE. Now where remission of these is, there is NO MORE offering for sin” (Hebrews 10:17-18). There are so many verses in The Word on this topic that I would not be able to finish them. Clearly something we were taught was wrong because no matter how much we try, we can’t seem to get it right. So rather than continuing down the same path and always ending up at the same place; try looking at the 3 verses I have covered with you. In my book “Becoming Christ”, I deal with this topic in great detail; and if you are having trouble breaking out of religious thinking, please give it a try. God wants you to have a Victorious Life! He wants you to be free from the cares of this world. More than anything, He wants you to have a deeper walk with Him. Because when you do He can get you His promises, and then you can begin to walk Victorious in all you do!!!
